1. When tramp iron-contaminated material enters the magnetic field of the pulley, the tramp iron is drawn towards the belt, where it adheres until it reaches the underside of the pulley. Once outside the magnetic field, the tramp iron is discharged separately, while the cleaned, non-magnetic material follows its normal trajectory over the pulley.
